Terms and Conditions

Payments and Terms

Our payment terms are Net +30 days. We would appreciate all end-of-month statements to be paid on/or before the last day of the month following the statement date. The customer, by transacting business with K- Mars Inc. agrees to pay a monthly service charge and a late payment fee on items that remain unpaid beyond 30 days from the statement date.

Returned Checks

Customers who issue checks that are returned to K- Mars Inc for any reason will be charged a $35 Bounced Check fee for each occurrence. Customers who bounce more that 2 checks will be placed on pay in advance by check or credit card terms.

Discounts

In order to receive K-Mars discounts we ask that statements are paid via company check.

Failure to pay statements on time will result in the waiver of all discounts based on sales volume or special bulk orders.

Shipments and Deliveries

For our customer’s convenience all orders are shipped via LOM and UPS. Claims for late, lost, or damaged orders should be made against the chosen carrier. If a prescription lens order needs to be remade due to this problem, the remake will be billed at regular prices. The credit for duplicate or cancelled orders is subject to arrangement with chosen carrier. K-Mars will negotiate acceptable arrangements with the carriers as a courtesy to our customers.

Orders

For our customer’s convenience in ordering stock finished or lab generated lenses please use K-Mars or KMRX standard ordering forms. Forms can be downloaded from this web site and faxed to K-Mars or placed directly online through www.lenses4glases.com.

Telephone Orders

For our customers convenience, especially those with no access to fax or internet, orders may be placed by phone
800-296 1551.
In this case all prescription orders are read back and accepted as being accurate. K-Mars cannot be held responsible for telephone orders mistakes.

Cutting and edging with Customer supplied frames and or lenses

At KMRX we will be glade to perform cutting and edging services with K-Mars frames or customer supplied frame or/and lens. We will take every precaution possible to ensure your frames are maintained in the same condition that you sent them to us and lenses treated properly through cutting and edging or drilling procedures. If, in the rare instance that something should happen to your frame or lenses through the edging, drilling or mounting process (e.g. frame or lens scratches or breakage) K-Mars Inc cannot be held liable or responsible. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Should a problem ever arise, you will be notified immediately.

Scratch Resistant and AR coating warranty for lenses

All scratch or AR coated lenses including polycarbonate lenses are guaranteed against scratching or pealing while under normal patient use for a period of one year. Scratches and damage due to fabrication, intentional damage or abusive use void the guarantee.

Doctor's Rx Changes

Doctor's changes are honored only on specific lenses that include this warranty such as progressive lenses. Lenses such as flat top bifocals do not have a warranty and therefore doctor's redo do no apply.


CREDITS

Surfaced-Uncut Lenses

If a lens proves to be defective or is covered by a manufacturer's warranty K- Mars Inc will issue credit. Credit will not be issued for the following:
1. Lenses that break or scratch during edging by customer.
2. Special order lenses that are cancelled
3. Jobs cancelled by the patient
4. Intentional scratching or breakage
5. Chipped or cracked lenses
6. Polycarbonate lenses exposed to acetone, neutralizer, oils, or solvent based liquids.
7. Any lens other than polycarbonate that results in drill mount breakage
8. Edging Errors
9. Lenses sent back for credit 30 days later from original invoice date
There is no warranty for polycarbonate lenses processed by customer for stress fractures due to router edgers and excess pressure while using diamond edgers.

Stock finished lenses
1. All the stock finished lenses returns are subject to 20% restocking fee. Exceptions made for lenses that are sent to the customer by mistake, defective or off power lenses. Restocking fee may be increased if lenses arrive to K-Mars Inc not in “resalable” condition. Lenses sent back for credit 90 days later from original invoice date may not be accepted for credit.
2. All lenses subject to credit should be sent to K-Mars through traceable shipping service. K-Mars Inc can not be held liable or responsible for lost or misplaced shipments.
3. Credits Received after the 15th of the month will NOT be processed until the following month. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause
